Hi, it’s me, the guy that never writes. I noticed this place has gone pretty stagnant, so I thought I would throw this update in to mix things up a bit.
There’s a lot of stuff to update everyone one, so let’s see if I can remember it all. Everyone will know most of this stuff already, except for the random Googler that hits our site:
First, around the end of the year, I got my 1986 Subaru GL working and on the road again. It had been down for repairs, and inevitably, modifications, since June or so. At first, I was just going to rebuild the engine because it had blown head gaskets, but I ended up putting a turbo legacy engine in it instead:
Now it makes about 3x the horsepower it used to 😀
I also did a lot of other electrical work to it, and it got a new paintjob… of bed liner. 😛 Now I don’t have to worry about door dings. Here is a picture of the exterior of the car:
Full work (mod) list:
- EJ22t engine swap
- Custom exhaust thanks to Chad
- 4” lift thanks to Andy
- 27” tires
- 6 lug wheel conversion, also thanks to Andy
- Rear LSD
- HID headlight conversion
- New stereo (need tunes, right?)
- Rear disc brake mod (soon)
- Exterior bed lined
- I also fixed my rear defroster and heater fan, so now I have heat!
There’s more picture of the Subaru in our new Photo Gallery, so be sure to check them out!
Second, Malorie got me a sweet weather station for Christmas! I love it, and I really like being able to analyze the weather with this. I also found a really cool application on the Internet that lets you hook the weather station up to your computer, and you can upload all of the information to a website. You can check out weather data at http://weather.jasonandmalorie.com, or click on the link in the sidebar on the right of our main page.
Last but not least, Malorie and I have been going through all of our photos, and uploading them to the web to share with everyone, resulting in another sub-site, http://gallery.jasonandmalorie.com. The interface isn’t completely refined yet, but it’s mostly all there. You can also get to this site from the link in the sidebar on the right of our main page as well.
We also took a trip to Las Vegas and San Francisco this past month as well. Check back soon for more details on those trips!
